For the 1st episode, we here present you our conversation with Aleksey Yalovega and his art world.

A few days ago, we interviewed Aleksey Yalovega, an artist from Ukraine. We knew and got access to his art works through CRYPTOART platform. His artworks are very avant-garde, full of fresh vitality, and he also has his own unique views on art and life.

1.Please introduce yourself.

I am an artist from Eastern Europe based in Ukraine.

There were no periods inmy life when I was not engaged in art. I graduated from the Faculty of Industrial Design at the Academy of Design and Arts in my city,

and perhaps this played a role in the formation of good spatial thinking. During my long creative career I have worked in different genres and techniques: painting,

graphics, airbrushing, photo and video art, performance, sculpture. For the last few years I have been studying 3D modeling and sculpturing software.

Digital media gives me a fairly wide range of tools to implement the most unexpected ideas! Also in the near future I want to master VR. The music for my audiovisual

compositions are being written by my wife who is a singer, musician and my supporter.

2.What was the opportunity to get you started with CRYPTOART?

Isolated modern realities are inherently complex. We have lost many of our familiar things, our usual behavior and attitudes are changing. But there are also positive aspects to this, as you begin to find information and new opportunities in non-standard places for yourself. One of these discoveries for me was that in my city, the visual arts community began to hold online meetings dedicated to the trends and technologies of contemporary art. At one of these meetings, there was an acquaintance with the blockchain and cryptoart.

I have a traditional art education, but I am open to modern possibilities and tools. My latest developments in the field of digital art, 3D, virtual worlds became a good basis for my start in the field of crypto art.

3.Who is your favorite artist and why?

In different periods of my development as an artist, I admired and was inspired by various masters. My early works were influenced, for example, by Rothko and Hundertwasser.

In general, I believe that it is important for an artist to get acquainted with the works of old masters, as this develops and expands the artistic vision. Evolution is cyclical and everything, even supernova and technological, is rooted in the classics and antiquity)

Now I try to follow the general trends in the world of contemporary art and draw inspiration from simple and everyday things. For example, when I’m in a creative stupor and don’t know where to start a new artwork, I can be inspired by my own Instagram feed. For me, this is now one of the most effective ways!

4.Has the advent of Cryptoart changed your life? Like having more income, or making new advances in your career?

Having worked as an artist all my life, I cannot say that I could earn decent money in the field of art. Somehow it so happened that the artist is often not associated with wealth, and history is full of examples when recognition comes to the artist after his death. It is sad!

Of course, you can talk about more applied things, for example, about the design of anything from business cards and games to tractors and interiors, but this is a slightly different side of art.

I have already created content in digital art before, but thanks to blockchain, the result of my work has become more tangible and valuable, since I can easily confirm the uniqueness, rarity and authorship of my art. I have access to marketplaces where collectors understand the value of a digital art product. I see other artists’ success stories and how art helps them overcome life difficulties and make their dreams come true. It inspires and makes me happy!

5.Could you tell me about your understanding of CRYPTOART from your perspective?

Cryptoart is a new era; it’s a community of financially literate like-minded people who appreciate art and technology; it’s excitement, fun and passion!

6.Do you know anything about China and what would you like to say to Chinese collectors?

I have never been to China, but it seems to me that it is a great and diverse country with a long and rich history. Perhaps the mentality of the Chinese and Europeans is different and some topics may be more general and resonant for us, while others may seem foreign. I see great interest in this!

We have common themes — love for genuine and rare art, understanding of its value — and this is already an excellent common foundation.

Looking forward to learning more and getting to know the community of Chinese artists and collectors! Thank you!
